In 2015 the Citizens Budget Commission published a blog that reviewed the history of savings programs, known as the Programs to Eliminate the Gap, or PEGs, in the New York City Budget. It included this table with the size of each PEG proposed in Preliminary Budgets going back to 1982. We have updated the graphic to include savings from the Citywide Savings Programs, or CSPs, under Mayor Bill de Blasio.
